Micro Events

Check out this year’s calendar of smaller, more intimate events, each designed to connect you to your local landscape.  Whether you’re a dancer or a gardener, or you just like to sit and enjoy the great outdoors — we have an event for you!

Edible Forest Foraging

June 23 | 9:00am – 11:30am

We have SO been looking forward to foraging for wild blackberries with you all on the beautiful Greystone Preserve. Being on the Preserve though, puts us at the mercy of mother nature. The abundance of rain recently has left the Preserve and parking areas waterlogged and impassible – and we have had to make the tough decision to postpone our Berry Picking until the saturated ground dries out. Our top priority is the safety of our visitors. Moving to a rain date is the best bet to ensure everyone’s safety and protect the land that we all love.
Keep an eye out on this page and our Facebook event page for the new date.

Long pants and gloves recommended. We’ll provide a few berry buckets but if you have one, bring it along! This event is free for members! If you’re not a member it’s $10/person or $20/family.

Moonlight Hike

September 22 | 8:00pm

Hike the Greystone Preserve by twilight and moonlight and experience another world.  We’ll explore the forest at night, taking in the sounds and smells of nature instead of the typical sights.  If the weather’s good, we’ll celebrate with a campfire and s’mores afterwards, and maybe tell a few ghost stories too!

AU Day of Service

November 3 | 8:30am – 11:30am

Augusta University is a committed member of our local community.  Every year, the students, staff, and faculty of AU join together to volunteer their time for countless local organizations, including the Land Trust.  This year, we’ll be building all sorts of cool things on our Greystone Preserve, including a new home for our bees, arbors and benches for the campus, and planting more goodies in the food forest.

You don’t have to be a part of AU to lend a hand, either.  Sign up today and help beautify your community.

Get ready for the holidays and craft your own one-of-a-kind natural wreath for your front door (or anywhere!).  We’ll provide all the materials and the know-how.  Just bring your creativity… and get ready for some serious holiday cheer!
